Is there a solution to your problem?
Forget everything that you have tried so far. Forget overeating, the constant eating of sweets, cream, and the pursuit of yet other useless tips, which are of no benefit to you.
Instead of all this, we advise you to turn to the ancient Indian holistic medicine Ayurveda.
How to put on weight with Ayurveda- practical tips
The first thing, which the Ayurveda specialists advise, is that you have to make sure whether you really need to put on weight. If you feel well and do not have health problems due to the few kilograms, perhaps this is the-normal-for-you weight, and you do not need to try to gain.
If still, you have decided to overcome this problem, you have to determine what your dosha is. This is necessary, because, if your dominant dosha is Vata, then, you are prone to underweight. People with Vata Dosha have a rapid metabolism and despite eating well, it is hard for them to put on kilograms.
The reduced weight, however, may be due to an increased Pitta Dosha as well, and you may lose weight due to stress; then, the diet, that you must follow will be different.
Food and drinks that you can include in your diet for weight gain
Eat fruits or drink fresh fruit juices (that you prepare yourself), if possible every day or at least several times a week. Of all fruits that you can have the most high-calorie ones are the bananas. That is why Ayurveda recommends that after a meal you should eat two bananas.
This will allow you to put on weight, while at the same time, you will improve your health. You can add bananas to different dishes such as desserts, shakes, or prepare them roasted with chocolate.
If you are not vegetarian, then it is good to add meat at least 3 times in your weekly menu. In Ayurveda, it is said, that we are what we eat. So, if you eat more meat, you will put on weight.
You only should not forget that the meat should not be fried or cooked with lots of fat, and in order to be healthy, it must be prepared in the oven or grilled with spices such as black pepper, salt, ginger, and garlic.
Include in your daily diet more curd, milk, sugar cane, rice, and wheat. They are all useful for gaining weight in a healthy way. Soya is also very useful, as it is with a high protein content and is a perfect choice if you are vegetarian and need good sources of proteins.
Add Ghee to the diet to increase your weight. Ghee has the ability to increase the body tissue, the appetite, and the digestion, while at the same time it reduces Vata Dosha. So, if you want to put on kilograms, it is good to add one teaspoon of Ghee to your milk or tea, that you drink before going to bed.
You can also add it to the food, that you prepare or you can have it directly.
Spices such as cinnamon, garlic, ginger, cardamom, cloves and black pepper also help to stimulate the appetite, therefore, you can add them to your list of foods which can help to increase weight.
Dried fruits and nuts also increase the body mass and from them, you can eat as much as you like. To put on weight, very beneficial are the figs, which, if you dip them in milk for several hours, become great, high-calorie and a very delicious dessert. Apart from figs, you can have any dried fruit that you love as much as you like them.
From the nuts, in order to put on weight, Ayurveda recommends almonds, but with them, you should not overdo (4 – 5 almonds per day are completely enough to give you the energy that your body needs).
Vegetables also help to increase weight, but only if they are consumed cooked.
Tips to gain weight in a healthy way according to Ayurveda
If you are of the people who are not eating regularly, you will have to change this and start eating at least 4 – 5 times a day.
The food that you eat is better to be warm and heavy. The cold food and drinks are not recommended.
When you eat, do not be fast and chew the food well. The slow and quiet eating stimulates the salivary glands, which helps the digestion.
Increase your weight slowly and gradually. Overeating can lead to excessive tension in the digestive system. The Ayurvedic philosophy recommends the most abundant meal of the day to be the lunch. To boost your appetite, you can add light snacks between the meals, but do not force yourself to eat, if you are not hungry.
Make sure you get at least 8 hours of sleep. If at the beginning it is difficult to fall asleep at 22:00 hours, you can drink one cup of warm milk with a pinch of turmeric.
The tonic herbs added in the milk will be beneficial for you. Such herbs are liquorice, Shatavari, Ashwagandha, and others. Do not drink plenty of water before or after eating. You can have a small sip during the meal if you need.
Try not to give in to stress and worries. If you remain relaxed, this will help you to increase your weight.
Herbs like Ashwagandha are very effective to encourage the weight gain. Two capsules or 1/2 a teaspoon of the herb will be taken with a cup of whole milk and organic sugar before going to bed.

That you are trying to put on kilograms does not mean that you should not make any physical exercises but on the contrary. If you want to put on weight healthily, physical exercises are very important for the improvement of the circulation and the digestion. The Ayurvedic medicine recommends meditation Yoga, walking, tai chi, swimming and other types of sports activities for weight gain.
Ayurveda therapies like Abhyangam (Ayurveda massage) are usually applied for boosting of the power and energy, but they can also be useful for weight gain. Shirodhara therapy is recommended if the weight loss is due to stress.
