Ayurveda is a comprehensive health science that, in a natural way, can help everyone, regardless of their illness. The World Health Organization has recognized the healing effect of the ancient Ayurvedic methods Purvakarma and Panchakarma.
But to help them lasting, people need to know at least the basic principles of Ayurveda. Otherwise, after healing them, they will return to their illness.
That is why Ayurveda treatment also includes lectures by the physician on what it really is, giving the basic principles of the path to longevity. Counseling is provided on how the patient can take care of himself / herself after the healing course in order to be healthy.
Each individual Ayurveda patient draws up an individual plan of what kind of lifestyle to eat – nutrition, movement, attitude to body and consciousness.
If one takes the principles of Ayurveda, he will be able to enjoy a long and fulfilling life without disease. His body will be cleansed by poisons, the tone raised, he will be energetic and happy.
Ayurveda – unity of body and spirit, human and nature
In ancient times, human health has been given the will of the gods. Diseases were a punishment for not following a divine decree, and good health – a prize for canon life.
Intermediaries were priests, priests, shamans, oracles, monks, priests, and so on. They have interpreted the commandments, praised the healing of the gods, had spells to expel the evil spirits, and had methods and remedies. Therefore, since ancient times, physical health has been associated with the spiritual beginning, health has been a unity of body and spirit.
Health as unity, interdependence between spirit and physiology is also set in Ayurveda. This Indian health science has been more than 5000 years old. Ayurveda is embraced by various religions – Buddhism, Sikhism, Jainism, Hinduism and has been at the heart of Tibetan medicine.
Ayurveda, which is organically related to yoga, is included in Vedic literature. Vedic texts are the first written testimonies of Indian civilization, which many scholars believe to be the first in the world.
Veda texts are essential to the ancient religious and ritual practice in different areas, and the inclusion of Ayurveda makes them the oldest medical sources known to mankind.
Vedic texts, including ancient Ayurvedic practices, are still used today and are perceived as an eternal source of knowledge. The spiritual beginning as a canon makes Ayurveda serve humanity.
As a medicine, Ayurveda is part of a complete science of life. This is also the translation from Sanskrit. The word Ayurveda is made up of two ingredients – “ayur” and “véda”, meaning “life” and “science”.
Ayurveda is a science about man, his place in the universe, and his interaction with nature. Before being recorded in Vedic literature, knowledge was given orally by a disciple-teacher. This involves extensive and in-depth knowledge in many areas.
Ayurveda as a medical science
In Ayurveda, as a medical science, there are amazing things. For example, the lyrics show that in ancient times, in Ayurveda, there are talks about bacteria that are not noticeable, metabolism, treatment of infertility, and so on.
It is also amazing that operations have been described, which even today, with modern techniques, are very complicated – organ transplantation, prosthesis, etc.
Much of this knowledge and skill in the texts is defined as a “divine gift” given “high”. Whether this explanation is acceptable to all or not, does not matter.
What is important is that in Ayurveda, the physiology of man has known very well – blood vessels, heart, nerves, bones, secretion system, and so on.
In order to master Ayurveda, different sciences have been studied – the general life processes, the functioning of the human organism – every organ in the body and systems as a whole, the causes of diseases and how each disease affects the body, diagnostics, treatment methodology, etc. .
Ayurveda also applies extraordinary knowledge of botany. There is a whole range of healing herbs. A list of 50,000 healing plants is known to the specialists, and combining them in certain ratios makes them many more times. So, for each disease, there is a natural herbal treatment.
Ayurveda also works with healing oils, also extracted from nature. Special training is also available for massages of certain points and areas of the body. Herbs or oils are mainly rubbed into them. In some cases, herbal oil can be used internally – for example, to inject through the nose for visual or respiratory problems, insomnia, memory problems, etc.
Because of this versatility of Ayurveda – to treat all diseases successfully and to cope with very serious medical problems, it has spread in ancient times among different nations – Chinese, Egyptians, Greeks, Persians.
Ayurveda as a disease prevention
Ancient Ayurveda can cure any disease. Of course, the timings vary according to the disease, the stage of development, the patient’s age, body type, general health.
In Ayurveda Clinic Bansko courses are 10-day, 15-day, 20-day or 25-day. In some cases, a longer period may be required, with the course being repeated. In addition to the specific procedures and therapies for the disease, Ayurveda is also very important in preventing, preventing or eliminating the causes of disease emergence and development. This elimination of causes is an integral part of the treatment of the disease.
It is a basic understanding that treatment is not just a struggle with consequences but a return to balance in the body and consciousness of man, restoration of the harmony and spiritual enlightenment set by the universe.
This also determines the great role of the patient – he is actually part of the Ayurveda treating team. If the patient joins with his mind, with his will, with a deeply conscious desire to regain total harmony, the results of the treatment are faster and better.
Ayurveda is prevention as a natural way of life. Feeding is especially important because the harmful foods accumulate toxins in the body and are the basis of the diseases. Ayurveda has specific nutritional requirements.
Meals are three a day. The food should be fresh and should be consumed within three hours of preparation. Then it is harmful, even made from useful products.
One has to eat in a relaxed environment, abstracted from problems and emotions, centered on the dishes. Dinner must be at least 3 hours before bedtime.
The food itself is three types – of kindness, passion and ignorance. The last category is definitely harmful and includes old products, semi-prepared, canned, meat, eggs, fish, bread, alcohol.
What is the treatment and how it works
Ayurveda treatment includes detoxication of the body through procedures and therapies using the Purvakarma and Panchakarma methods, taking spice dishes, Ayurvedic meals, yoga, relaxation and meditation, consultations.
All this is combined into an individual treatment complex for each patient after the diagnosis by the Ayurvedic doctor. Separately or altogether, this should not be used in any other patient, even if it has a similar illness because everyone has strictly individual features – body type, gender, age, general condition that the Ayurveda physician has taken into account when appointing the designated treatment and the combination of types of procedures.
Ayurveda diagnosis itself is environmentally friendly. It can even detect diseases that have not yet developed symptoms but are already on their way. Ayurveda diagnosis is done in 8 ways: pulse, urine, stool, tongue, speech, touch, vision, appearance.
The goal of Ayurveda’s treatment is to restore the original balance between the three energies that determine the activity of the main systems and health.
- Vata determines the functioning of the cardiovascular system and breathing.
- Pita is for the metabolism.
- Kafa – for the body’s defense and body growth.
Typically, one of these energies leads to the corresponding body type, the three being in a certain ratio. If their equilibrium is impaired, the body starts to get sick.
The disturbance of the balance is in fact a violation of the activities of a system or systems in the body. This is the result of accumulated poisons that are taken in unhealthy lifestyle (harmful food at great immobilization), and often by contaminated air, water, soils that poison agricultural produce.
Toxins accumulate as slags and over time become a sticky layer from which the body fails to get rid of. Thus toxins disturb the body’s activities and violate the balance of the body. Therefore, an essential point in Ayurvedic treatment is the purification of the organism.
The methods of Purvakarma and Panchakarma
The purification of the body is accomplished by the methods of Purvakarma and Panchakarma. Basically, Purvakarma is a preparatory process, but it also has a healing effect on a number of diseases. The body is filled with healing oils, massages for rubbing herbs, saunas with herbal infusions. Bonding and heating are particularly important.
With the Purvakarma, the body relaxes, zones with accumulated poisons that are prepared for disposal from the body. The procedures and therapies of this method soften slags, treat inflammation, soothe and relax the tissues and joints, internal secretion is activated, metabolism is enhanced.
In addition, Purvakarma therapies are achieved and anesthetic effect, suitable for beneficial effects in psychological problems, results in the fight against multiple sclerosis, facial paralysis, etc.
Purvakarma is administered at the beginning, and the procedures are then combined with Panchakarma therapies that are for internal purification.
Panchakarma includes healing by herbs, medicinal oil enema, which also includes herbal infusions, ingestion of oils through the nose, laxatives, blood purification.
Each of these methods is recommended for a given disease. For example, weak herbs remove poisons from the liver and bile as well as the digestive system including the small intestine. Among them, they are suitable for the treatment of asthma, chronic fever, skin problems, joints, diabetes, digestion, etc. Blood purification is applied in very rare cases and only at the discretion of the Ayurveda physician.
After the Purvakarma and Panchakarma cleansing procedures and therapies, more than half of the harmful substances in the body are cleared – heavy metals, pesticides, free radicals. This restores the normal functioning of the systems in the body and it begins to work in natural mode.
